WHAT TYPE OF HAIR IS THIS RANGE DESIGNED FOR?
This range is ideal for hair that has undergone extensive coloring and/or bleaching. It restores and maintains elasticity, strengthening hair's resistance.
This range is also suitable for very brittle hair, providing complete repair and regeneration..
WHAT IS PLEX TECHNOLOGY AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?
Born in California (USA), plex is a revolutionary invention in the world of hairdressing.
It's a complex of acids and proteins that performs a kind of total reset of the hair fiber. It penetrates deep into the hair, restoring the fiber by rebuilding the disulfide bridges broken by certain styling techniques such as coloring, bleaching or perming. It neutralizes the devastating effects of these techniques (split ends, breakage, dullness...).
HOW DOES PLEX WORK ON MY HAIR?
To fully understand the action of plex, we first need to look at the composition of human hair. There are three layers: the cuticle, a protective envelope of scales on the hair surface; the cortex, mainly made up of keratin (protein), which is the hair's structure and determines its pigmentation; and the medulla, the central, hollow part of the hair shaft.
Disulfide bridges are so named because they are links between two sulfur atoms. In hair, these bridges exist in the cortex, between molecules of cysteine (an amino acid, an essential constituent of keratin, which contains sulfur). Other bonds (hydrogen, salt, etc.) combine with those of the disulfide bridges to form chains that maintain the cohesion of the hair fiber, ensuring its strength and elasticity.
Disulfide bridges in good condition are a sign of strong hair, protected from the risk of breakage. However, certain treatments (oxidative coloring, bleaching, straightening...) dislocate these chains as they permanently modify the structure/nature of the hair, with varying degrees of damage depending on the case (frizz, breakage, split ends...). Plex acts by filling in the gaps left by destroyed keratin and rebuilding disulfide bridges. As a result, hair regains its initial elasticity and strength.
IS THE SHAMPOO IN THE RANGE SLS-FREE AND SUITABLE FOR STRAIGHTENING MAINTENANCE?
The shampoo in the range is completely adapted to smoothing maintenance as it contains neither SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) nor SLES (Sodium Laureth Sulfate, an ethoxylated derivative of SLS, therefore considered less harmful).. Highly irritating, these sulfates destroy the dermis' natural lipidic protection, exposing it to external aggression.
WHY DOESN'T THE SHAMPOO IN THE RANGE LATHER?
The shampoo in the Home Care Plex range does not lather, precisely because it contains no sulfates, the usual ingredient used to create lather in cosmetic formulations.
DO I HAVE TO USE THE MASK FROM THE SAME RANGE AFTER MY HOME CARE PLEX SHAMPOO?
All UNIIKONE masks are compatible with Home Care Plex shampoo. However, the Home Care Plex duo has been specially designed to perfectly complement the shampoo and corresponding mask.
For optimum results, we recommend using the Plex Home Care mask after shampooing with the same range.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I USE THE RANGE?
Frequency can vary from 1 to 5 times a week, depending on hair type. If your hair is dry hairtendency, for example, we'll wash it less often than if it's oily hair. We always complete the shampoo with the with a mask for optimum effectiveness.
